Becoming a Deadly Connections Accomplice is a way to support the work of Deadly Connections through various ways including through direct volunteering, mentoring, research, community engagement and connections, extending our reach.
ROLES AVAILABLE FOR DEADLY CONNECTIONS ACCOMPLICES:
Research and provide information on challenges that disproportionately affect Aboriginal children, young people, adults, families and communities specifically those relating to child protection and/or justice system involvement to inform program delivery, services, research activities and/or submissions
Event attendance, actively engaging with the community by attending local community events, schools and businesses to raise awareness of Deadly Connections
Host a fundraiser or event to raise awareness and/or funds, with the proceeds going to Deadly Connections for example, a trivia night, gold coin donation morning tea at your work place, high tea, bowling night, etc. If you are hosting an event open to the public, please let us know so we can help with promotion.
Assistance with setting up and assisting at events such as training, ceremonies, balls and information sessions
Social Media Champion – help us raise awareness and change the narrative within NSW and outside communities. SMC should have active, multiple social media accounts that they engage with regularly (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) and are willing to share and promote Deadly Connections content.
Face to Face Volunteering including providing mentor support to our program participants (including justice-involved young people), or volunteering on our Saturday afternoon Street Smart project
